“There’s a thread you follow.
It goes among things that change.
But it doesn’t change.
People wonder about what you are pursuing.
You have to explain about the thread.”
~William Stafford
Come spend a contemplative weekend in companionship with fellow seekers
writing the thread of your sacred journey.

writing the thread of your sacred journey.
Jennifer Leigh Selig and Dana Swain believe that every spiritual journey has both personal and archetypal dimensions. In this writing retreat, they’ll begin by guiding participants in an exploration of their sacred journeys through a mapping process, creating a unique memory-montage that will be mined throughout the weekend for what it reveals about the archetypal dimensions of the journey. Participants will learn about and identify their own spiritual archetypes and spiritual temperament types, those sacred threads woven into and through their spiritual lives. Reflective writing prompts will deepen the exploration, because as Deborah Levine Herman notes, “The process of spiritual writing is an end in itself. While you are sharing your insight and wisdom with others through the act of writing, your wisdom increases many times over, almost as though you are being taught by your own hand.”
This retreat is designed for everyone who wants to be “taught by their own hand,” from novice writers who seek to explore the mystery and meaning of their spiritual experiences, to more experienced writers, perhaps already engaged in writing spiritual memoir, who desire to deepen their personal stories with more archetypal dimensionality.
Jennifer and Dana led a wonderful spiritual writing retreat which led to not only a deeper understanding of myself, but an amazing epiphany about my work. I hope they do a follow up class!
~Teresa Lodato, CPCC Leadership & Relationship Coach, Author, Speaker
I had the pleasure of attending Jennifer and Dana's "Following the Sacred Thread" writing retreat last fall. It was a sublime experience. I left with not only a map of my journey as a writer and truth seeker, but also deeper insight into my spiritual archetypes and temperament types. Jennifer and Dana are wonderful teachers who have a knack for guiding students through their sacred journeys with wisdom and compassion.
