IMMERSIVE (adjective): providing, involving, or characterized by deep absorption or immersion in something

This memoir course is for you if:

• You know you have a memoir (or two or three!) inside of you, but are overwhelmed by where to begin and could use some practical advice
• You have written some scenes, pages, or chapters, and could use some help seeing the big picture
• You find yourself scattered or stuck in your memoir project, and want some grounding
• You've in the "messy middle" of memoir writing, and can't see the forest for the trees
• You're intrigued by the idea of finding the universal in your unique story and want to dive in
• You could use some inspiration right about now to finish your memoir already!

This course is limited to 10 people. Early registration is encouraged.

Topics we'll cover in the immersive include:

• Pinpointing the nouns that make up the topics of your memoir
• Finding (or narrowing) your themes
• Identifying the essential questions your story asks and answers
• Locating the turning points in your story
• Naming your overarching reflections and takeaways
• Exploring your structural choices
• Considering ways to connect yourself as a character with your readers

While this course will focus on the full-length memoir, everything we'll discuss also applies to standalone short-form memoir essays as well

I have been a student of Jennifer’s for over a decade, both during my Ph.D. program in depth psychology and subsequently in many of her deep-dive courses on nonfiction writing and vocation, all emphasizing an archetypal approach.
